Please, Mr. Foer. The Wall Street Journal is a mediocre newspaper. It has great news sections and news reporters--unparalleled excellence, save possibly for the Financial Times. It has an editorial section that daily plumbs the Stygian depths of incompetence and mendacity.

As I've said before, one of the most interesting lunches of my life was spent seated with my back to a table holding conservative Charlie Stenholm (former D-TX Rep.) and conservative Judd Gregg (R-NH Sen.) as they discussed the Wall Street Journal editorial page in frank and improbable ways...
